Margaret Mollon of Novi was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on July 14, 1928, to Ernest and Mary Shawcross. She passed away on November 17, 2016, surrounded by family. She grew up in a Detroit neighborhood near the State Fair Grounds. At a young age, Marge met the love of her life Leslie Mollon who lived a few streets over. She worked as an executive secretary at Detroit Edison before leaving to raise a family with Les who she married on September 2, 1950. She later worked for years as a secretary at Redford Presbyterian Church. She loved travel, skiing, game nights, theater, and singing and dancing in amateur productions, but her greatest joy was being a wife to Les; a mother to Roger (Barbara), Mark (Joan), Matthew (Katherine), and Roberta (Douglas) Arrowsmith; a grandmother to Scott (Noreen), Anthony (Carla), Joel (Katie), Bret, Eric (Holly), Katherine (Trevor), Lauren, Melissa, and John; and a great-grandmother to Rhys, Max, and Luna. She filled her schedule with family outings and activities, taking pride in all of their dance recitals, sporting events, music performances, graduations, and award ceremonies. She still had time to be active in church groups, clubs, and community events. A true matriarch, she was the center of family life, a master scheduler, and she worked to keep the extended family connected. When she was around, laughter was plentiful which she also shared with wonderful lifelong friends. Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service to celebrate her life at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Northville, 200 E. Main Street, Northville, MI 48167, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to American Cancer Society or First Presbyterian Church of Northville.
