We loved him. 

His wife and son, his high school friends (he stayed connected with), old movies, and doo wop music were his world. 
He said there was no music after Doo Wop. I disagreed with him, but appreciated his commitment. And I grew to love the music too. 

He was happy to share. All you had to do was ask and he’d burn you a custom mix. 

He and I had much to agree on over the last few years and I enjoyed talking with him when we had the chance. 

He retired from Ford Motor in Michigan. 
He loved my Aunt Pearl (an angel on this earth) to the moon and back a trillion times. And his son John Marshall too. 

His life was both difficult and beautiful. 

I wish he had more time. 

He was the oldest of four. I know his siblings  were all happy to see him and hear him crack his first heavenly joke, which I’m sure he did the moment he arrived. 
You will be missed. 

Thank you for always being there for Pearl and John. You were always a wonderful husband and father to them. We are all going to miss you especially Pearl and John. Love you

My friendship with Marshall began over70 years ago in a northwest Detroit neighborhood where we both grew up. It was during the era of Elvis,Rock N Roll, Doo-Wop music and Saturday Matinees at the Atlas theater. To us, it was paradise. We both attended Mackenzie HS and graduated together in 1958. Over the years, we remained in contact and loved to rekindle the many great memories we shared. Marshall eventually became the DJ at our Mackenzie Reunion Picnics where he provided the music for our get togethers.  He also attended all the Daly Reunions over the years. Another hobby Marshall enjoyed was collecting old western movies that we saw when we were kids. I will miss our regular phone chats and will always have fond memories of our friendship. Rest in peace good buddy, you will always live on in the hearts of those who knew you.

I remember the last time we were together you pulled out a road atlas and helped me find the best route home. I remember your jokes. Your laugh. I’m sad we didn’t get more time. I love you. One day I will see you again. I look forward to that. 

Marshall's friends from Mackenzie are so sad to hear of his passing.  He was our DJ at 8 years of annual picnics for those who went to Mackenzie in the 50s and 60s.  His gentleness and kindness will be missed.
