Maureen McLachlan

Maureen McLachlan of Livonia, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 21, 2023 at the age of 81. Maureen was born on October 13, 1941 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to her parents James and Rose Geraghty.

She was married to Ronald McLachlan for 62 wonderful years. Loving mother of Melissa Cahill (Brendan), Laurie McLachlan, Matthew McLachlan (Christine), Michael McLachlan and Joseph McLachlan (Betsey). Cherished Grandmother of nine grandchildren: Colin, Caroline, Amelia, Brady, Gus, Aidan, Gavin, Liliana and Lionel.

Maureen is preceded in death by her parents, James and Rose, and her older sister Shirley Wright.

Maureen graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She married the love of her life on October 1, 1960 and they raised their family in Livonia, Michigan. Maureen was a homemaker who loved raising her five children, doting on her grandchildren, reading, cooking, ballroom dancing with Ron, knitting and watching old movies. She was active at St. Colette Catholic Church for 40 years as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Women’s Guild, funeral lunch team, church cleaning team, and the Christian Crafters Knitting group. She also enjoyed being a Friends of the Livonia Library volunteer. Maureen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation, Friday, August 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Livonia. Funeral mass, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 AM (in state at 9:30AM) at St. Colette Catholic Church, Livonia.
