

MIKE JR. of Redford Township, Michigan, and formerly of Charleston, West Virginia died, Sunday, November 13, 2016, after an extended battle with Lewy Body Dementia, at the age of 89. He was one of nine children of Mike and Mary Bsharah of Charleston. Mike graduated from Charleston High School in 1945 and attended the West Virginia Institute of Technology where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. Mike was a successful businessman and was an owner of several restaurants. Mike retired in 2002. Mike was a World War II veteran who enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 in 1945, serving his country in Okinawa. He was a longtime member of St. George Orthodox Church, Troy, MI and of the Orthodox Basilica of St. Mary's, Livonia, MI. Mike's greatest joy was his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores (Corey) Bsharah; four children, Michael (Marcie) of Dearborn, MI, Susan of Redford, MI, Mary Katherine of Redford, MI; and, Lawrence (Elizabeth) of Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Also surviving are his five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michael, Nicholas, Thomas and Katherine. Mike is also survived by his brother Al (Harriet) of San Diego, CA and sister, Georgia Lee (Michael) of Charleston, WV, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at St. Mary's Orthodox Basilica, Livonia, MI; visitation is also scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016, at St. Mary's Orthodox Basilica in Livonia followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to St. George Orthodox Church, Troy, MI or to the Orthodox Basilica of St. Mary's in Livonia, MI.
