

Mr. Onorio Catenacci was born on September 30, 1925 in Casalvieri, Frosinone in Italy to his parents Giuseppe and Annita Catenacci. He was educated in Italy and earned his certification as a Master Carpenter, which would be his career throughout his life. At 21, he married his wife Elpenice and they had their daughter Ann together. He moved to the United States at age 22, and worked for General Motors as a Master Carpenter for 36 years.
Onorio loved working with wood, whether it was making cabinets, or working around his house or helping others. He would frequently be found working around the house or outdoors in the garden. He traveled extensively, often going back home to Italy or around the country and world. He engaged many people with the stories of his life. He lived a full life and will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elpenice in 2006 as well as his parents. He is survived by his loving daughter Ann as well as his aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews here in the United States as well as many relatives in Italy.
Friends may visit Onorio's family during a visitation on Saturday April 21, 2012 from 8 am until 9:30 am at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile in Livonia, Michigan 48152. The funeral home is located on the north side of W. Six Mile and east of I-275 and Newburgh Road. Following the viewing, his Funeral Mass will be at St. Colette Catholic Church located at 17600 Newburgh Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152 at 10 am, with Fr. Gary Michalik Celebrating Mass. The church is located just north of W. Six Mile on the east side of Newburgh Road.
Onorio will be laid to rest with Elpenice at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Michigan Humane Society.
