Paul grew up in Detroit and attended Mackenzie High School and Southfield Vocational School. He went to work at Ford Motor Company as a welder on the frame line. Paul took advantage of the electrician apprenticeship program and continued as an electrician for Ford Motor Company until he retired. He often worked overtime to provide for his large family. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 12 years from 1947 to 1959.
Paul was very mechanically inclined and had a passion for inventions. He could fix just about anything. He spent many hours maintaining and repairing the family cars that filled the driveway and street. His responsible nature showed in his priorities and good humor. Paul placed a high importance on nutrition throughout his entire adult life. He studied the role of supplements in promoting a healthy immune system and fighting specific health issues. He was intentional about sharing this information with his family. Paul had exceptional knowledge and great interest in economics and especially the stock market and was particularly attentive to the Elliot Wave Theory. He was also passionate about biblical end times prophecy. His faith in God gave him confidence facing death.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. After he retired, he regularly visited and brought snacks for the grandkids, and even the neighbor kids as well. He was affectionately known as the “grandpa with fruit!” due to his many bags of sliced apples, cantaloupe, honeydew, kiwi…Ah, and let’s not forget the mozzarella cheese! Whether the trips involved walks to the park, playing in the yard, or building with Legos, he was always engaged.
