

Richard Robert Manning was born October 2, 1929 in Ferndale, Michigan the son of Richard and Margaret Manning and the brother of Robert, Ruth and Peggy. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later worked as a construction contractor for most of his life.
Dick loved to be out on the water on his boat, going up north to his house and could often be found sipping a martini. If not on the lake, he would just relax by a pool. In addition to up north, he traveled with Irene in the motor home to Florida and Arizona.
He was an energetic man and was always keeping himself busy with fix-it projects around the house.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Irene, his two children Dawn Goldstein and Greg Manning and his four stepchildren Thomas, Kathleen, Jeffrey and Scott. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and his three siblings Robert, Ruth and Peggy. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services for Richard will be Saturday August 13, 2011 at St. Aidan Catholic Church, located at 17500 Farmington Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152. There will be a gathering at the church from 9 am until his memorial Mass at 9:30 am, celebrated by Fr. Kevin Thomas. The church is located on the east side of Farmington Road just north of Six Mile Road.
