

Roger C. Asman, 91, of Livonia passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Roger was the only son born to Frederick and Florence Asman in Detroit on April 7, 1929. Roger graduated from Cass Technological High School in 1947. After graduation Mr. Asman was drafted into the U.S. Army where he honorably served as a Military Policeman. After his discharge from the Army he earned his B.S. in Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. Mr. Asman spent his career as an engineer mostly for Snyder Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. When he was not working he enjoyed lap swimming for exercise, Amateur HAM radio operator as well as restoring old radios. Mr. Asman was a member of the Antique Wireless Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Asman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol A. (nee: Smith); sons, Stephen W. (Traci) Asman and David C. Asman; grandchildren, Dennis (Laura) Woods, Sarah (Jason) Peiffer and Elizabeth Asman; great-grandchildren, Malcom and Rosalind Peiffer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A burial with military honors will be scheduled at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
