Ronald Zygmunt Kosmalski was born on July 29th 1950 in Detroit Michigan. He died of recent and severe heart issues on June 9th 2024, surrounded by his loving children David (& Beth), Daniel, and Laura. He was 73 years old when he died.
Ron (who also went by Ronnie, and Koz) was raised by his father and mother, Zygmunt and Dolores Kosmalski. He was the younger brother to Bonnie (Kosmalski) Palmeri. He attended St. Christopher school through 1964 and graduated from Frank Cody High School of Detroit in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970 and served on an aircraft carrier in Vietnam and Japan, and domestically at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Ron completed various electrical training courses in the Navy and served as a scuba diver that performed underwater explosive ordinance disposal.
Ron settled in Livonia Michigan after his time in the Navy. Ron worked for several years as a salesman at VECO International, a company that produced clean rooms for medical, technological, and research industries. It was during that time when he met Sherry D. Lask, whom he married in 1984. Ron and Sherry were married for 21 years and had 3 children; Dave, Dan, and Laura, whom they raised in Livonia. Ron earned his journeyman electrician’s certificate which enabled him to work part-time as an electrician, in addition to his full-time sales position. Ron eventually moved to a cleanroom sales position at Clean Air Technology, and over the course of many years of hard work became part owner of the company. He retired in 2017.
Ron enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, sports (playing in his younger years, watching in his more recent years), cars, and travelling in his RV with his dog Molly. He was a life long Christian and enjoyed the faith community at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia, where he and Sherry brought up their 3 children in the Christian faith. In 2021 Ron became a grandfather to Penelope Kosmalski, whom he absolutely adored.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Zigmunt and Dolores Kosmalski. Ron leaves behind his sister Bonnie (& Tony) Palmeri, his children Dave (& Beth), Dan, and Laura, and his granddaughter Penny. Ron will be remembered by his family and friends as someone who lived a life in Christian faith; and as someone who was very endearing and who treated others with kindness.
A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14175 Farmington Road, Livonia, Michigan 48154.
