Ruth Edna Hayes

Mrs. Ruth Edna Hayes departed this life on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 12:30am, at the Four Chaplains Nursing Care Center in Westland, Michigan. Ruth was born on November 13, 1927, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, to the marital union of Herbert Scott Williams, Sr and Martha Mae Campbell. She was married to Mr. Charlie H. Hayes in 1946; to this union, three children were born. Hard-working and devoted to youth education, she served the Detroit Board of Education as a teacher's aide for 17 years.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by two daughters, Ms. Carol Jean Frison of Westland, MI; Ms. Charlene Cooper of Upper Lake, CA; one son, Mr. Horace Allen "Sonny" Hayes of Antelope, CA; five grandchildren, Carol Papazian of Garden City, MI; Chris Shewchenko of Chicago, IL; Antonio Hayes of San Francisco, CA, Sinserria Collazo of San Antonio, TX; USMC GySgt Allen Mumbo Hayes of Jacksonville, NC; one sister-in-law, Thelma Hayes of Sardis, MS; and a host of relatives and friends, including Marva Ester Hayes; Peter Papazian; great-grandchild Rebecca Papazian; family friend Ken Halliburton, and late grandson James Frison.
