Sean Edmund Johnson, of Brighton, Michigan, passed away at his home on October 13, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on April 29, 1973, in Novi, Sean was a man who lived life with heart, grit, and a deep love for his family, his work, and the open road.
Sean was the devoted son of Judith Johnson and the late Gerald Johnson, and a loyal brother to Jason Johnson, with whom he shared not only a lifelong bond but also a business and a passion for Tigers baseball. Together, Sean and Jason proudly carried on their father’s legacy at Novi Spring, a family-owned company specializing in precision-engineered garter springs. For over 60 years, Novi Spring has served the industrial and automotive industries with strength, reliability, and performance — values that Sean embodied every day in his work and life.
A proud gearhead and adrenaline enthusiast, Sean found joy and freedom on two wheels or in the snow. Whether cruising on his Yamaha VMAX, tearing up trails on his Arctic Cat snowmobile, or tackling terrain on his four-wheeler, Sean felt most at home outdoors and in motion. He shared many unforgettable rides and moments with friends and family, often returning to the places that shaped his childhood — especially Grayling, where family trips created some of his most treasured memories.
Sean’s love for family was deep and unwavering. He was a proud uncle to Haven Johnson and a faithful companion to his two beloved dogs, Tuco and Nico, who were never far from his side. His warmth, humor, and loyal spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
In accordance with Sean’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
