It has been said that people die, relationships do not. I believe the legacy of Sharon Urso will live on in the hearts of all of us who had the privilege of knowing her as a family member, colleague, and friend. I first met Sharon when I was the Chair of the Hospice and Palliative Studies Department at MU, where she became a student. Sharon was self-directed and determined, and graduated with honors -- so it was not a surprise when she decided to share her depth of knowledge as an adjunct faculty member in the Department (while also working in the Graduate School full-time). Sharon was dedicated to helping others, which was embedded in her words and actions, as she greeted us all with a genuine smile and always with a caring inquiry about our own lives. May we all strive to be kind, and hold hope for her friend Pam, her family members and her many friends. She left us far too soon. Rest in Peace, Sharon.

I was so sorry to hear that Sharon had passed. My heart is heavy. I worked with Sharon many years ago at Advo. She was a great friend, so thoughtful. Although we have not seen each other in person for years we would still exchange Birthday and Christmas cards every year. My condolences to Pam and her family. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Rest in Heaven Sharon.

Sharon was one of my favorite teachers in the Hospice program at Madonna University. She was also a good friend who I enjoyed corresponding with during the holidays. I have known her to be a compassionate and kind-hearted person. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. May she rest in peace.

Sharon's gentle and friendly manner made one feel peaceful when sharing a moment with her. She often joined us at Mass and had a friendly greeting whenever we would happen to meet...Now that she safe in God's loving arms, may her peace fill the hearts of all who love and miss her.....

I am heartbroken over Sharon's passing. It was a pleasure to work with her at Madonna and an honor to call her my friend. Anyone who knew her knew there was a beautiful soul behind that beautiful smile. She was always so kind, caring, and generous with everyone. Especially those in need. My heart and prayers go out to Pam, Alan, Debbie, and Sharon's many friends. May your memories comfort you until you meet again.

Sending hugs and blessings to Sharon's dear friend Pam, sister Debbie and brother Alan. It was my great pleasure to work with Sharon and share friendship. Sharon was a talented colleague and committed her whole self to her work and any endeavor she engaged in. I treasure the memory of her smile, her love for helping any and everyone around her. Graduate students loved to drop-in and let Sharon know how they were doing, even after graduation. This is a tremendous testament to the Franciscan care and concern she always demonstrated and modeled for others. A dear friend and angel to so many.
