Born on August 19, 1943, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Sharon was the daughter of Harold J. and Mary Ellen (Golden) DesForge. She was one of four children, and is survived by her siblings Fred (his wife Pat) DesForge and Joanne (her husband Thomas) Verbracken. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary DesForge. Sharon is also survived by her two daughters, who reside in Minnesota.
Sharon had a long career in retail, where her natural flair for fashion truly shined. She and her beloved husband, Graham, spent nearly two decades enjoying retirement in Sun City, Arizona, where they shared a deep passion for golf and the simple joys of sunshine and community. Sharon also loved cooking and baking, and those fortunate enough to sit at her table knew the warmth and care she poured into every meal.
Though petite in stature, Sharon had a feisty spirit and lived with boldness and grace. Her final adventure brought her to move to Michigan to be closer to her nephew & godson Scott Verbracken and his family.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. An intimate celebration of Sharon’s life will be planned at a later date, at which time she will be laid to rest with Graham in Sun City, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s honor may be made to a humane society of your choice—an homage to her lifelong love of animals.
