

Thomas Ronald Granata, 92, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Tom’s life was defined by his commitment to his family, his professional dedication, and his zest for adventure.
Tom was born on September 3, 1932, to Anthony and Elsie (Marsolino) Granata. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and the mother of his children, Nancy (Shaw) Granata, who passed away in 1999, and his son, Tom Granata.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Boni Granata, whom he met through her family in 2002. Their connection blossomed into a strong partnership, and after becoming a couple in 2004, they were married on March 25, 2009. Together, they shared a beautiful life, traveling the world and creating memories in destinations across Europe, South America, and Asia.
Tom is also survived by his children, Cindy (Rand) Weborg and Jill (Thomas Horton) Granata; his grandchildren, Eric (Tracie) Granata, Angela (John) Boyle, Lindsay (Aaron) Birckett, Ryan (Kally) Ratzloff, Elizabeth (Meg) Ratzloff, Paul Weborg, and Hannah Weborg; his great-grandchildren, Norah, Elsie, Callahan, Violet, Leo, Myles, Becket, and Mirabel; and his brother, Robert Granata.
A longtime parishioner at Saint Aidan Catholic Church in Livonia and most recently attending Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington, Michigan, Tom’s faith was central to his life.
Professionally, Tom’s career was rooted in the furniture industry. He began as a young delivery driver with Crown Furniture, where his talents as a salesman soon became apparent. His career would evolve into an international sales role, working for multiple companies and building a respected reputation in the industry. Tom ultimately became a successful furniture importer and spent a decade owning Granata Furniture, leaving a lasting legacy in his profession.
Outside of work, Tom was an avid golfer, sailor, and world traveler, enjoying countless adventures with his family and Boni. Whether on the beach, traveling to new places, or spending time with his grandchildren, Tom’s love for his family was boundless. His grandchildren were a special source of joy in his life, and the affection they shared was a testament to the kind, loving man he was.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for life will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of sharing in it.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at St. Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Tom’s family will be present for a period of gathering time that will take place on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider contributions in Tom's memory to Angela Hospice.
