He was born May 12, 1927, the son of (Giuseppe) “Joseph” and Maria (Rosetti) Galli.
Ted was the youngest of four children and carried that role with a gentle strength and deep sense of loyalty. His life was rooted in devotion — to his parents, to his beloved wife, the late Laura Galli, and to his children, the late Richard Galli, and his daughter, Mary Jo “Jo” (Galli) Bourjaily. Family was always at the center of Ted’s world, and his quiet love and steady presence were gifts to all who knew him.
For many years, Ted worked as an engineer at Ford Motor Company. After retiring in 1986, he began a second career building homes in Arizona, a craft close to his heart. These were skills first learned as a young man working side by side with his father, Giuseppe. Ted believed in the value of hard work and took great pride in creating things built to last — whether it was a home, a repair, or a lesson passed down.
Above all, Ted was a deeply devoted father and husband, and a loving brother to his older brother Carmin Galli and his sisters, Benedetta “Betty” Galli and Elena “Helen” Galli-Rhinehart, and his brother-in-law Ross Rhinehart. He was the last of the four siblings to pass, closing a long and loving chapter of shared memories, laughter, and family history.
It is a fact that there was nothing associated with a house or automobile that Ted couldn’t fix with his hands. He had a natural gift for understanding how things worked, and he found joy in being the person others could count on. He proudly passed those skills on to both his son Richard and son-in-law Randy, along with the patience, care, and pride that came with doing a job right.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Jo; her husband, Randy; his daughter-in-law Patti Galli; Carmen’s wife, Beverly Galli; his grandchildren: Dr. Richard Bourjaily and his wife, Marisa Bourjaily; Ryan Bourjaily, Anthony Galli (Kevin) and Gina Galli-Baker (Derek); and five great grandchildren; his niece Maria Galli-Davison and nephew, Keith Galli. His love lives on in each of them, in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the steady example he set.
