Vance Daly Powell, J.D.

He was the beloved husband of the late Josina "Peggy" Powell for almost 60 years until her death in 2002. Loving father of Dr. Vance D. (Dawn) Powell, Jr and William B. Powell. Dear grandfather of Vance D. (Karen) Powell III, Shannon (Joseph) Fritchley, Matthew B. Powell, Joshua R. Powell and Chelsea M. Powell. Step-grandfather of Daylin Starks, Casey Starks and Katie Starks. Great-grandfather of James Powell, Ethan Powell, Gideon Fritchley, Athan Fritchley and Lily Powell.

Vance earned his Juris Doctor degree from Detroit College of Law in 1936. He was a proud attorney who owned a private practice for most of his career. He loved the outdoors and all animals; Vance even had a "pet" squirrel that would eat from his hand.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, March 17, 2012 for a Memorial Gathering from 10:00am - 11:00am and a Memorial Service at 11:00am concluding with Navy Funeral Honors and there will be a light repast following the service for those that wish to stay and visit at:
