Wayne was the devoted husband of Eilovel, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of love and partnership. He was the cherished father of Sherry (Jim) Giordano and the late Edie VanPutten, and the loving father-in-law of Gordy VanPutten. He took great pride in his family and was the treasured grandfather of Kelly (Gabe) Dotson, Gordy (Cristina) VanPutten, Jim (Jenny) Giordano, Jeff Giordano (Lauren) and Jenny (Shounak) Mukherjee. He was the adored great-grandfather of Joslyn and Zeke Dotson, Emma and Abby VanPutten, and Dylan Giordano. Wayne was preceded in death by his siblings Melvin, Kenneth, Walter, and Wendell.
A graduate of Hickory High School in Pennsylvania, Wayne moved to Michigan after graduation and embarked on a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, retiring after 37½ years of service. He also proudly owned and operated his own business, P&H Industries.
Wayne lived life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He became a private pilot at age 40 and enjoyed collecting antique clocks, watches, and many other unique treasures. A daily crossword puzzle enthusiast, he also found joy in fishing on Newburgh Lake and singing in a Barbershop choir. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched all who knew him, and he will be tremendously missed.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home.
In memory of Wayne, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
