Over the years Wendell and I enjoyed each others company at an unknown number of collectors shows - during room hopping, during the bourse, and at dinners after the show. He was a wonderful person, a consummate gentleman, as well as a fellow collector. I was honored to have had him as a friend and will miss him very much.My sincerest sympathies to his family.

I met Pete in 1986 when he hired me into the QA Department at Parke-Davis in Ann Arbor.  Over the years he was my boss, teacher, mentor, counselor, and friend.  He had an amazing mind and was kind and generous.  He taught me many lessons, professional and personal, and was a major influence on the success I have enjoyed during my career and life.  I will always remember him fondly.

Wendell was both a gentleman's scholar and a scholar's gentleman. He opened his home to all, proudly yet modestly showing off his fantastic Willkie and Michigan Republican collections. He graciously 'permitted' Doug Kelley to concentrate on the Democrats. And, as amateur gardeners, we shared a 'common itch' as we both made "bad investments" in several different mosquito traps. I will be forever in his debt for the wisdom and grace he so freely shared.

I would like to join my other hobbyist friends in celebrating the life of Wendell Peterson.  He was a fine gentleman, a devoted family man, and a good friend to many.  His memory will live on with those whose lives he touched.

Will always remember Pete discussing his favorite Dutch foods, his great interest in Wendell Wilkie, the cost of garden upkeep, and more. We at the Dutch Club in NW Ohio have missed him dearly since he moved from Ida, Michigan. Pete will always be in our thoughts.

Wendell was the consummate collector and gardener.  I remember visiting and admiring his " Better Homes and Garden" estate, and appreciating his warmth and hospitality.  There is not finer gentleman and friend, and he will be missed by so many of us.  I hope the fondest memories warm the hearts of family and friends moving forward.

We will remember his warmth in the meetings of the Dutch Club.

Wendell was a special friend to those of us who collected political memorabilia.  He was a decades long regular at the MI Political Collectible show held in May.  For a number of years, Wendell graciously opened his home, collection and garden to those of us as a special climax to our show.  He was also a regular at other shows around the country where we often shared dinners and grand conversation together.  He was a kind, warm hearted individual, and he was really one of Cathy's favorites.  We have missed him at shows, we will miss him as we move on, and we will continue to keep him in our memories.

Pete was a marvelous leader and mentor for his QA group and a great friend subsequent to his retirement. I will miss Pete's insights and sage advice. A kinder and wiser soul I have not known.  He will be missed by all of us.

I learned so much from Pete while working in Parke-Davis QA. Our common background as graduates of Kalamazoo College also helped to form a special bond. He will be greatly missed.

So very sad to hear about Pete's passing. I enjoyed working for him in QA for many years and really enjoyed our friendship over the years. Loved hearing his stories about his daughters and the grand-kids. Such a nice person with a great sense of humor. RIP Pete (with your green pen). You will  be missed!

My 3 daughters who grew up knowing Wendell, my 2 sons-in-law who got to know Wendell at those dinners and I send our heartfelt condolences to Wendell's family.

Wendell will always be remembered for his warmth and grace as a dedicated member of APIC and a very good friend of mine.  At this time of transition, my prayers go out to members of his family, and those who feel the loss.  My memories of Wendell, will last forever.
