Our team at Erma's sends their condolences to the entire Diehl family. We will always appreciate Bill's personal attention, genuine spirit, and passion for his customers & industry. He played a small yet integral part of our family business' success over the decades. Since his retirement, we've missed seeing him and "his bride, Jan", at the annual GLICFFA trade show. We are sorry for your family's loss.

Bill was a wonderful neighbor for about 34 years until the passing of my parents,Richard and Marlene O'Meara. We had outings with the Knights of Columbus and church get togethers. Went to school with their son Tom. We moved in yo our subdivision in the summer of 1965 about the same time . There was only a handfull of houses built at the time. He will be missed. Mr. Diehl. Tell my mom and dad hello from O'Meara children

Janice, Donna, Pam, Tom and family, while no words can ease the pain, may the outpouring of love by friends and family bring you solace. Bob and I send our deepest condolences at this extraordinarily difficult time. While we will not be there in person, know that you are all in our thoughts. The world has lost a wonderful human being, but Heaven has gained a truly precious soul.

We remember Bill fondly and want to express our sympathy to Jan and all the family. Bill was such a friendly person who was always willing to help anyone in need. We have memories of great Dairy Christmas parties and of course the State Fair which he was a master at managing. We will never forget his constant smile!
Sincerely,
Bob & Carol Carabelli

Throughout all of my years of business and sales I'd have to say that my dad was, by far, the best salesman I've ever known. He cared so much about his customers. I think he must have written the book on customer service. When I was young my dad took me with him to work one day. We visited some of his customers. They all loved him. He brought joy and happiness to everyone. He was heavily involved in the Michigan State Fair. We looked forward to it every year. He served the BEST chocolate milk. One of my favorite things to do at the fair was drink the unlimited chocolate milk. My dad also introduced me to Polka Music, Kishka (polish blood sausage)(didn't know what it was till I got older....yuck.) and perogies. We went boating on the weekends, that was super fun. I have such wonderful memories of growing up. He was a wonderful father and a good friend. I will miss him everyday! I love you dad.

I remember when I was young and my grandpa always used to take my family and I to the Michigan State fair. It was my first time milking a cow in the barn which was a pretty fun experience. I remember how he used to get us the most fresh milk and it always tasted so good. He was always such a happy, bright person who wanted to put a smile on everyone’s face by cracking some jokes or just by asking how everyone was. He would always bring me next-door with some milk bones to play with the neighbors dog. My grandpa always was such a good role model and will be missed dearly.

I first met Bill at a school bid opening when I started at McDonald Dairy in 1986. We talked about Twin Pines Dairy and that, as a kid with 5 siblings, we had TP milk delivered right to our door. Bill told me he was "Milky the Clown" and I totally believed him because of his height and features! Later, we had a good laugh. I will miss Bill's smiling face and kindness. Janice and family, Bill was "one of the good ones"!

Bill was instrumental in creating the Great Lakes Ice Cream + Fast Food Association, formally known as the Michigan Soft Serve and Fast Food Association with Ward Anderson. Bill was a convention staple in the C F Burger trade show booth and served on the Board of Directors for over 30 years, President from 1991 to 1992 and Person of the Year in 2005.
On a personal note, I enjoyed seeing Bill and Jan smile at the convention and touched so many of our members lives. I found a couple of pictures you might enjoy. Bill and Ward Anderson (1983) and an early picture of the C F Burger trade show booth (late 1970's). Enjoy.
On behalf of our association, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Have so many wonderful memories of bill thru the years. He was a really great guy. Remember the year he was Santa on Christmas eve at Aunt Bev's. He was probably the tallest and skinniest Santa the kids ever saw, but he was perfect. This is just one of many memories we have of him .

My favorite memory of grandpa is from when I was younger . Grandma and grandpa would come visit every year for my birthday. Every time they visited grandpa would open his arms big and wide saying Greggy, And tell me that he loved me. I loved grandpa so much and not just because he would bring cases of eggnog whenever he visited. Every day was a joyful day when grandma and grandpa visited. I hope that when I get older I will have as much energy, happiness, and love as he did.
