Allen John White

A Celebration of Life

Suddenly, after a courageous battle with mylodyspasia, Allen John White of Grand Bend, formerly of London, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Doreen Rose (Sanderson) for 53 years. Dear father of Kathy (Walt), Bill (Teri) and Lisa (Kenny). Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Brother to Chris (John), Betty (Duncan), Jerry (Pat), Ted (Karen), Jean (Mike) and Jan White. Brother-in-law to Delight (Clare), Nancy (Sid), Bob (Shirley) and missed by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of the Optimist Club and active volunteer. He retired from Canada Post in 1993. Allen was an avid golfer, shafting a hole in one in 2009 at Oakwood where he once shot a 78. Fisherman, outdoorsman and lifelong learner, Al to his last breath reminded us all to hold those dear to us closely. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Oncology, 7th floor of L.H.S.C., the London Regional Cancer Centre Chemotherapy Nurses, Dr. Kovaks and Registered Nurse Practitioner Lynda Wilkey of Grand Bend. Visitation will be held on Monday March 7, 2011 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St., London). Cremation to follow. A graveside service will be held in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Al’s memory may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre.
