At Mac, he was my little sibling in a mentorship program as we were both in commerce. He was so positive, happy and courteous. We bonded over culture and our love for dance. Aneel was such a charming person and the world needs more people like him. Praying for his family.

I taught accounting with Aneel back in 2015 and 2016. He was so sharp and so hard working . His lessons were prepared and he always worked so hard. I was so impressed by his dedication to his students . I am shocked by his passing and send  sympathy to his loved ones.

I was one of your first DECA members at South, and I truly regret not thanking you enough for the experiences you've provided me.

I can still remember your passion for DECA, and how much you wanted to watch us walk across the stage.  I wish you could've known that 2 of our own made it to ICDC this year, even though it's all virtual.

I know you would've hated masks, because no one would be able to see your ear to ear smile.  I wish I could've vented to you about how terrible remote learning was, and hear your encouraging words once again.

My most cherished memory of you happens during my 3rd and final year of DECA.  You brought us to Provincials in Toronto and during dinner, witnessed me reconnect with an old friend I had met from my first year at provincials.  You were so amazed by the fact that I held on to such a relationship for so long without ever bothering to take a train to go hang out with them outside of DECA.  I later told you that we had been planning to meet and mingle around the Eaton Centre together after dinner, however there was a policy for the students that they were to travel with another student for safety.  You recognized that sending me with another student would interrupt our plans, and instead brought the rest of the club ice skating and implied that I would be "remaining in my room for the night".
The rest of that night lives to be my favourite high school memory, and it wouldn't have been possible without your understanding.

I regret not showing my appreciation for how much you treated our club like family, though the many times you mentioned we were your figurative children. lol.

There are no words for how incredibly devastated I am to hear of Mr. Janmohammad’s passing. I had the honour of being taught by him at Banting back in 2016. He was the most genuine and caring teacher I have ever had. He always talked about how much his family meant to him, as well as his fiancée, Jenna. He was so proud of his family, which is a quality I really admired in him. He noticed that I prioritized my grades over my mental health, and every day he would check-in on me. He would ask me if I slept enough and ate enough. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He inspired me to pursue a degree in Business and eventually teach. We kept in touch after I graduated, and he wrote me an incredible reference letter when I needed to transfer schools. I wish I could’ve told him how much he impacted my life and how much of a mentor he was for me. I will never forget how his smile filled the classroom, and how contagious his passion for teaching was. I am starting teacher’s college this upcoming year and Mr. Janmohammad had a huge influence on that decision. I hope to have an impact on students the way that he so effortlessly did.

Jenna, I am so sorry for your loss. I was so lucky to have met both you and Aneel this year. He was so welcoming, kind and personable. He made me feel right at home when you hosted your Thanksgiving Day get together. Although I was only able to meet him a handful of times, I will always remember his kind smile and words. Aneel is gone much too soon, but in the time we were all blessed to have called him friend, colleague and educator, I know that he made a huge and lasting difference in the lives of so many.   The world is better off for having him in it.  His relationships with students, colleagues, family and friends are evidence of this truth.

Aneel was driven by a passion for people and service.  That was evident in his role as a teacher, coach and teacher advisor for DECA.  It was also evident in each of the personal moments he brought to every encounter.  It was in these moments where I also learned about his love of family, his depth of spirituality, his travels and his joy in all that lay ahead in his future with Jenna and in teaching. Greetings. I dont know Aneel but was absolutely saddened by his untimely demise. By the obituaries placed in this website, I could see he was a wonderful, positive, charming and a very loved person.  My heartfelt condolences go to his parents, sister and fiancee.  I cant even imagine the grief and pain you all are going through. I worked with Aneel in 'High School Here I Come' and he was a joy to work with.  He was a true team player and brought great energy and enthusiasm to the program.  The kids enjoyed his style of teaching and I appreciated his hard work and dedication.

I remember being in Mr janmohammed’s business classes and he was always so passionate about business. He would always encourage his students to work hard and was always there if anybody needed a helping hand. He was very caring and kind and would always want the best for everyone. He helped me a lot during many stressful times in my life including me waiting for a response from a university back in grade 12. He would always remind me that it’s important to work hard but it was more important to take care of myself. I will cherish every memory I had with him and will forever keep him in my prayers. 

...I am heartbroken to hear of Aneel's passing. I continue to read the memories posted on here trying to comprehend how he is no longer here. As I read all the wonderful messages and beautiful anecdotes and memories I get goosebumps seeing all the many lives Aneel has positively impacted...Mine was also one of them. 

To be completely honest if it wasn't for Aneel I probably would not be where I am today in my Career. I knew Aneel when I was in grade 10 and we kept in touch here and there afterwards. After asking him for some advice for teachers college he encouraged me to apply and wrote a letter of recommendation without me even knowing. Thats the kind of guy Aneel was. He would go above and beyond to help those around him. He was a beautiful soul. He had a radiant, beautiful smile, he was kind, he was a fantastic dancer and he was an inspiring person. 

It was clear that he was an  incredible teacher, friend and human being. 

To jenna and Anooshae .. my heard breaks for the both of you, I can only imagine the pain you must be going through. It was clear that you both had an incredibly special relationships with Aneel. Aneel would often talk about Jenna and it was clear that he truly loved her, I remember seeing Aneel and Portugal and him talking about the proposal and the excitement he shared. Anooshae, I think everyone was able to see the beautiful bond that you both had as siblings and it was clear he was proud of you and loved you both so much.

Mr. Janmohammad was truly a remarkable person and, I am still in shock to hear this event and it crushes me to think such a good person had to go so early. Mr. J was one of the kindest most optimist people I’ve ever had the chance of meeting. 

The first time I met him I had just started at South for my grade 12 year. I didn’t know anyone and was standing on the third floor waiting for class to start. Mr. J seemed to notice a new face in the hall and came up to introduce himself and welcome me to South. From that day on he would always stop me in the hall way to talk, and ask how I was enjoying being at South, how my classes were going, or simply just to see how I was doing. Everyday he would always have a smile on his face no matter what, and that’s something that I’ll always remember about him. 

These are a few of the many memories I’ll always remember about Mr. J. His contagious smile and positive attitude will be missed among the halls of South.

I had only met you a handful of times, but every time, you would engage me in deep conversations about your passion for teaching (and why you switched careers to inspire youth and haven’t regretted it since), your admiration and love for Jenna, and just to check in with me. Through these few encounters, I already sensed what a remarkable, selfless, kind, polite, caring, and inspirational person you were. The last time I saw you was only a few weeks ago, over Skype, and you, Jenna, Allie and I were sharing a laugh together. I wish we could laugh one more time all together. I am still in shock to hear of your passing, and my heart is so heavy, for Jenna and your entire family. Jenna spoke of you often and I knew how much you cared for each other and the incredible and rare love you shared. I promise you that I will support her however I can, forever. Aneel was a gem of person. He had an infectious smile and was always willing to go out of his way to help other people. Aneel did lots of ceva, from driving me and many other students to khane to showing  me around London, and even offering to take me grocery shopping. I wasn't taught by Mr. Janmohammad and neither did I ever have the pleasure of properly getting to know him, but he has done one of the biggest favours one could do for someone: he saved my best friend's life. He caught her hours before she had planned her suicide and talked to her and helped her realize the importance of life. He made her feel valued at a time that I couldn't emotionally be there for her and I think that is the greatest thing one can do for someone. Even though I don't know him, he must've been a fantastic person, I'm sure. I can't do much but I pray for his eternal peace and place in paradise. I also pray that his lovely fiance and all of his loved ones may gain peace as they navigate through this painful loss. My prayers will always be with Mr Janmohammad.

Aneel was always a positive, passionate, and enthusiastic teacher who genuinely cared for all students and staff.   Through building relationships and understanding the needs of each individual student, he helped students believe in themselves and reach their potential.   
Aneel took the same dedication he demonstrated in the classroom to DECA.   His expertise and passion grew the program to over 30 students, with students having great success provincially and qualifying for internationals.  He was so proud of their accomplishments.

Mr. Janmohammad had the most radiant smile I have ever seen. He never failed to reflect his outgoing energy upon his beloved students who he cared about deeply. He always made sure to stop and say a friendly hello and ask me how I'm doing whenever we would cross paths on my way to math class. Walking down third floor and passing by his business classroom will never be the same for me and many others. Mr. Janmohammad had made a great impact on all of us at South and will not be forgotten. He is a great example of who we should aspire to be: humble, loving, optimistic, and caring. My deepest condolences to fiancé, family, and friends of Mr. Janmohammad.

I had the pleasure and honour of knowing the amazing, wonderful Janmohammad family as their Realtor and then had the privilege of  becoming their friend.  I  loved the Janmohammad family as they were my own and I was  so proud of Aneel's accomplishments and the kind of human being he was, as if he was my own son.
 Words are too inadequate and small to convey the deep sadness I feel inside my heart.  I am still in shock and thinking I will wake up tomorrow and Aneel is alive and well with that genuine smile on his face. Every day people come and go in our lives. There are only a very few who touch our hearts and souls in a deep and profound way and their imprint will never be erased from our heart and our memories. I had the pleasure of working with Aneel at NMDHS and lucky enough to have some great conversations with him at SDCI when he was coaching.  Aneel was always the most positive and encouraging person to both staff and students.  He was such a genuine, kind and positive person whose presence will be missed deeply.

I met Aneel 8 years ago, during my second year of university at UWO. He and I both shared an interest in dance, and that is how our friendship began. Aneel and I were dance partners for many performances we took part in, for our Western ISA events. He also helped me with creating choreography for a segment of one of our biggest and first ever dance competition, at the Post-Secondary Games Tournament, back in 2012. When I look back, it feels like it was just yesterday. I still remember the audience’s excitement and reaction when Aneel surprised them all by jumping out of a suitcase, mid-way through our dance. And I still remember how hard he worked at perfecting his choreography for that dance! Not only did I see this passion through his dancing, but also through his academics. He always strived for perfection in anything he put his mind too. He had a smile that would light up any room! He had the kindest soul and always went an extra mile to help anyone whenever he could. 

After graduating from UWO, we all went our separate ways and many of us lost touch, but social media continued to keep us connected. Watching Aneel and Jenna connect from the very beginning, during our school days, and seeing their relationship flourish, even from a distance, I’ve always admired them both so much!

Hearing about his death has been very shocking and heartbreaking. I still cannot seem to come to terms with it. My heart truly goes out to Jenna and the entire Janmohammed family. I hope and pray God gives them all the utmost strength, courage, power, and patience to get through this difficult time. Aneel, wherever you may be, I wish you the utmost peace. May his soul rest in paradise for eternity! Ameen.

I did not know  mr. Janmohammad personally nor did I have him as a teacher but I would sometimes see him in the halls asking how every one is feeling. That really shows that he was a nice caring person and whenever I saw him he would always smile and whenever I see that I cant help but smile as well. I will remember fondly so many things about your time at South - your enthusiastic participation in all aspects of the school, your joyful smile in the halls, our conversations about life, and the times you popped into Rm. 106 to say hello and see how I was, just because you were passing by. I had the pleasure of teaching Anooshae and working with Aneel at Central. I will always remember Aneel’s friendly smile and his willingness to help out with extracurricular events. In the short time he was with us, he became part of the Central community.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Noosh.

Mr. J was the happiest man I had ever seen. I never had him as a teacher but I always saw him roaming the halls around lunch or in between periods. I never saw him without his beaming smile and his caring personality always asking me how I was doing and feeling that day. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. He was a kind and caring soul that believed in everybody. I share all my love to his family, i am utterly devastated to hear of his passing. He deserved so much. I hope he is at peace and that the family takes care.

I went to school (Western University) with Aneel. He was one of the most kind-hearted people I knew; he exuberated a presence of positivity and  compassion. At the time, he was pursuing studies to become a teacher - he was so passionate about his work and career and I could tell he was fulfilling his dream.

My deepest condolences to Aneel's family for this immense loss. May he rest in eternal peace.

This past February I met Mr.J in Toronto during DECA provincials, I was with my friends from Banting DECA and was walking back to our hotel as Mr.J was leading South students in the same direction. He energetically introduced himself and asked me and my friends about our cases, events, and overall how our trip in Toronto was going. Although brief, meeting Aneel Janmohammad showed me what a caring, outgoing, and truly genuine teacher and overall person looks like.  His personality was so bubbly and happy so he made our walk back to the hotel entertaining and made us feel so welcome as we didn’t know any of the south students. His inclusivity of us will inspire me forever and I am so grateful to have met him, Rest In Peace Mr. J

Mr. Janmohammad was such an amazing teacher. He was so dedicated to every single student he worked with. He helped me reach my full potential in DECA. He will be truly missed at south.

We met only a few times in person, but I learned much more about Aneel (Mr.  Janmohammad) through the many stories shared by my daughters Madeline and Julia, who were both so fortunate to have been taught by such an energetic, caring and truly genuine person.

I never had Mr.J as a teacher but I heard so many great story’s about him. We only ever saw each other when we were in the halls he always had a smile and said hi to everybody. he spread so much positivity through out the school You will be missed R.I.P❤️🦁 

While I may not have known Aneel as personally as others, I did have the honour to know him through the eyes and the heart of his fiancee, Jenna. Jenna and I have known each other since we were in high school and have remained close for over ten years.

I remember when Aneel first entered Jenna's life and she would share with me the stories of this boy who would drive her from Western to khana and clearly had a crush on her. She called me after their first official date and gave me all the details. As their relationship progressed, she shared with me so many stories about their life together. Despite all their ups and downs, Jenna and Aneel always found their way back to each other. I was so happy that she finally found such a kind and sweet soul to love her so much.

Aneel, wherever you are today, I want you to know that I promise to do whatever I can to support Jenna. The same way I think of Jenna as my family, I always considered you a part of my family as well. May your soul rest in eternal peace.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Aneel the last four years at South. Your infectious smile and great sense of humour will be truly missed. I will never forget how you made a point to talk to everyone not just to be polite but because you truly cared about their well being.

I think your positive nature is something we could all learn from.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Aneel. I worked with Aneel at Central. He was a lovely man who genuinely cared for his students and colleagues. He was a tremendous co-advisor for the DECA team, always ready to pitch in and truly mentoring the students. He was dedicated to the students’ welfare far beyond the call of duty. I recall many Fridays, school was over and most staff were on their way for the weekend, but there was Aneel playing the Catan board game with a handful of grade 9 students, some of whom were not even in his class. He will be missed. 

Aneel was a great friend and brother. He would always greet me and talk to me whenever I came to London Jamatkhana. I still remember when he was a student at Mcmaster as well and I used to see him there. You will forever be missed Aneel. Thank you for being an amazing brother.

I was fortunate to know Aneel throughout his teaching career in a variety of ways.  One of the many things that made Aneel special is his ability to care deeply.  Aneel was passionate about being a teacher and was always looking to improve his skills because he cared so deeply for his students.  As a DECA Advisor, his advice and encouragement had a deep impact on his students and many others across TVDSB. I know he will be missed by us all.

My heart is broken for Aneel's family and friends- the love he had for his sister, parents, Jenna, and his community was evident in the way he spoke and who he was.

May Aneel's memory be a blessing and inspiration to us all.

Mr. J, I am shocked and saddened to see you gone. Thank you for being such an inspiring educator and a friend to me during my high school experience back in 2017. You showed me kindness and support when I was getting settled in a new place, and I am grateful.

My condolences to Aneel’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Aneel through the interview process at NMDHS. I was very impressed with this young man. 

My deepest condolences go out to Aneel’s family.  I taught with Aneel at NMDHS.  He will be deeply missed by all.  He was so passionate about his teaching career and being a role model for the students.  

Aneel was always full of happiness and excitement.  And so passionate about his devotion to his work, his friends, and his family. My favorite memories are of Sunday football,  camping, ice cap catchups at tim hortons, and of course, board games. Including LOTS of Catan! Aneel you will always be loved and cherished in my heart,  and I will never truly accept that you're gone.  

Aneel was an amazing educator and an incredible person. I had the pleasure of working with Aneel in the Business Studies department at London Central. Aneel was truly a passionate educator who cared deeply about those around him. His positivity and passion for life elevated and energized those around him, including myself. We had some excellent conversations in the business office about anything and everything. He always wanted to learn more and was always striving to be the best person and teacher that he could possibly be. His positivity was so impactful and his words and actions encouraged those around him to be better people. He will be deeply missed by staff and students in the TVDSB community. Aneel genuinely cared about everyone! He went out of his way to be helpful, encouraging, and kind. I watched him be an amazing mentor for students and also felt his passion and support in the math department at South. He inspired me with the sincere love he had for his family, friends, religion, teaching, students and DECA. He will be missed by many and remembered forever! 

Mr. Janmohammad was my son's Math teacher last year (grade 9), and I had the pleasure of speaking with him a few times. He cared deeply for his students. He wanted nothing but the best for all of them.  When I spoke to him about my son's learning he really made me feel like he sincerely cared about giving him the best opportunity to succeed. I can't believe he's gone.
It's hard to put into words exactly how I feel, but it's not a good feeling. Somehow, it hurts physically. The mental pain does not go without mention, though. Mr. Janmohammed was the second only teacher I could really consider a friend, or just someone to talk to. He understood me, and pushed me to succeed. Now that he's gone, I feel a void. 
Truth be told, this is really hard to speak about. All the same, Janmohammed held a special place in my heart and I'm sure the same goes for many other South students as well.

My deepest condolences to Aneel’s family and loved ones. I knew Aneel through the business studies community in Thames Valley. He was such a passionate and enthusiastic educator. Aneel reached out several times to go over new ways to engage our students and get them excited about our classes. I enjoyed working together with him. He was always so kind and had a big smile that seemed contagious. Aneel genuinely cared for his students and worked hard to give them great experiences. My heart is broken after hearing this news. We lost a good one. Rest peacefully Aneel. 

Today I found out something that is a tremendous shock to me, something that puts me at a loss for words and in mental and physical pain. It is still beating my brain out to this minute, but all the memories about Mr. Janmohammad are just playing in my head like a movie. In the past 3 years, he has been both a mentor that I truly look up to, and a friend I can rely on. His positivity shaped me and his community in so many remarkable ways. I only got to clear up my vision for my future and gain a lot of confidence in myself because he motivated me to explore the field of business. He saw more potential in me than I did in myself at the time, and never gave up on any one of his students.

It is such a devastating pain that I have to say a sudden goodbye to this life-long mentor of mine. May you rest in peace. I will miss you and keep passing on that infectious smile and positivity of yours.

I only had Mr. J for one class back in the 10th grade, however it was one of the best classes I have taken in my time at South. Mr. J was so kind and caring and made connections with every student he passed in the halls. He shared so much wisdom in his short time. I thank him for everything he has taught me, for encouraging me to achieve my goals, and for caring so much. Aneel Janmohammad is without a doubt, the kindest man I have ever had the privilege of meeting. My condolences go out to his family and friends in this difficult time.

After 2 years since graduation, Mr. J is still someone who comes up in many stories and good memories from high school. I enjoyed every class, event and conversation with him because of his kind spirits. 

Mr. J was fun and treated you like his friend but he could also be serious and really dive deep into the topics within his classroom which kept us students in line and on top of our work. He did everything with passion and came to school with a positive attitude for us even if he wasn’t having the best day and I admire him for that.

I wish I could have thanked him for being a friend when it felt as if I had non. When I finished my time at South I began to miss our chats about our lives, his stories, his excitement in our business class and even his good mornings, hellos and goodbyes. I’m thankful I was able to have him in my life even if it wasn’t for long. He’s taught me so much and has set such a high example of what it means to be kind hearted.

Mr. Janmohammad was such a kind and caring teacher, mentor, and friend. No matter what he had going on he would always light up the room. His smile and energy were contagious and it made school and DECA so much more enjoyable.

I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Janmohammad for two courses and have him as a leader for three years with DECA. I had never had a stronger bond with a teacher. Jmo always tried his hardest and set everyone up for success. His class was always a pleasure to attend. 

I will miss our hallway talks, after school talks, early morning talks, and everything about him.

I had the pleasure of working with Aneel as DECA advisors and business teachers in the Thames Valley school board over the past few years.

I will always remember Aneel's positive energy and enthusiasm. especially at DECA events. He was always so supportive and proud of his students and they really appreciated it! Aneel and I were eagerly looking forward to working together at the DECA international competition in Nashville this spring. Unfortunately, it was cancelled this year and we were both quite disappointed - but looking forward to next year. 

I was very saddened to hear about Aneel's passing.  However, I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience firsthand his positive energy and passion for providing opportunities for his students.

I would like to pass on my heartfelt condolences to Aneel's family and friends. He will be sorely missed. 


Thank you for expressing your love for teaching with such encouragement and positivity. I will never forget your infectious energy that lights up the room. Your connections with your students were obvious from afar and you will be so missed.

If I'm being honest, I didn't know Mr. Janmohammad very well. In fact, I only knew him for about 2 weeks, as I took a brief math class with him. I remember him being very strict, but very subtle about it. You couldn't tell he was strict, but what you could tell was that he was very organized. It was an honour to be in class, and I will never forget how much he made me laugh. He made me believe that there are people in the world who can be as caring, intelligent, genuine, and humourous as he was. A light in a dim place; that's what he was, and did he ever display that well. My prayers go to his family, and may be rest ever so easily.
