Eileen Mary Helen Forrest

Eileen Mary Helen Forrest (nee Henderson) passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook hospital on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the age of 101 years. A woman of incredible strength, determination and warmth, she is survived by son David (Monika), grandchildren Crystal (Philip), Thomas (Emma), Vanessa (Michael), and Samuel, and great-grandchildren Theodore, Zoe, Leigh, and Hunter, and many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, John Forrest, her son Hugh and daughter Jane, and her granddaughter Katherine.

Eileen loved nothing more than to dance, swim at Oxbow Lake, and to spend time with her family and friends in Toronto, London, Huntsville and Orlando. Passionate about her community, she was past president of the North York Home and School Association, and served as Chief Returning Officer for elections and Area Supervisor for the census. Curious and sociable, she will be dearly missed by all.

Memorial services will be held following the cessation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Should you wish, donations in memory of Eileen can be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre or to United Way Toronto. Many thanks to those who have already remembered her with flowers or donations.
