

Born and raised in London, Fred died peacefully at his home. Devoted husband of 42 years to the late Gwennyth Barton (1996). Loving father to Douglas, Leslie Anne and Jennifer. Dear Grampy to Tonya. Also survived by his great grandchildren Katelyn, Cheyenne, Bryanna, and his great-great grandchildren Justice, Kane and Gage. Sadly missed by his sister Christine Booker, his brother Barry Howson, and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by his parents James Jenkins and Christina Jenkins-Howson, son Gilbert and siblings James, Marion Ratteray, Kay Livingstone, Evelyn Johnson, Donald Laverne and David Ross. Fred, along with his siblings, carried forward the legacy of their parents’ publication, The Dawn of Tomorrow newspaper. Fred owned the company FREN Distributing Agency for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of Lions International with over 50 years of service. During this time he rose to the position of A1 District Governor. Fred served two terms as Trustee for the London Public Board of Education and was a member of the Duchess of Kent Legion. Visitation will be held in the Needham Funeral Home, 520 Dundas St, London on Wednesday April 22, 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a Lion’s Service at 6:30pm. The Funeral Service in the Needham Funeral Chapel on Thursday April 23 at 1pm.
