Predeceased by his beloved mother, Jill, and his 1st niece, Amanda. Shannon is survived by his living loved ones: his daughter, Kristin; his son, Theron; his father, Michael (Christine); his older brother, Michael; and his 2 younger sisters, Michelle and Charlaine. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as a vast network of friends spanning the West Coast to the East Coast. Born in London, Ontario, to parents Michael and the late Jill, Shannon was a man of the road, an independent spirit who found a home in the journey itself.
A true seeker of "unwalked ground," Shannon’s life was a map of Canada. He travelled and lived from the rugged West Coast to the shores of Nova Scotia, with many stops in between. He lived with an intentional, quiet distinctiveness, fueled by a deep-seated curiosity about Canada and the different territories it offered. A house of music was his foundation, but books became his sanctuary. He was an avid reader and a seeker of knowledge, often found immersed in philosophy, belief systems, and various versions of the Bible, searching not just for pleasure, but for true understanding. Despite his solitary inner world, he never lost his admiration for the "good 'ole hockey game," a passion sparked in childhood while sitting with his father for Hockey Night in Canada. Shannon lived for the arts and the outdoors.
Shannon will be remembered as a witty, caring, humorous and unapologetically independent soul. Though he often walked a lone path, his core was always shaped by the family he had now left behind.
Special thanks to Janis and her helpful husband at the Salvation Army in Saint John, New Brunswick.
A service to celebrate Shannon’s journey will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Needham Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 2 PM, followed by a service at 3 PM.
