It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vera Lasek, surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 1, 2023. She was born in Timmins, Ontario (May 10, 1929) and was the daughter of Mary & Philip Gordeyko.
Vera was predeceased by her husband Joseph, the love of her life (1976). Cherished mother of Philip Lasek (Ann Marie) and Karen Canton (John). Proud grandmother of Heather Lasek (Brad), Kristopher Lasek (Melissa), Cameron Canton (Rachel) and Jaclyn Canton. Beloved Baba of Caleb, Ella, Brynn, Reese & Bodey. She will be missed dearly by her family. Recently predeceased by long-time best friends Julie and Hank Igras. She will be sadly missed by her extended Gowanlock and Carrothers family.
Her family would like to thank Dr. O. Al-Azem, Dr. A. Beswick and the staff of acute medicine & palliative care at University Hospital for their wonderful care of Vera.
Visitation and memorial service will take place on October 12th, 5-8PM and October 13th, 11AM
Visitation will take place at Needham Funeral Home at 520 Dundas Street, London on Thursday, October 12th 5PM till 8PM. The memorial service will take place Friday, October 13th at noon, a visitation will also be held an hour prior.
