Cecilia Hoffland

September 16, 1949 - April 1, 2011

Cici was born in Columbus, Ohio. She also lived in Massachusetts and Rhode Island before moving to Long Beach in 1956 with U.S. Naval Officer father Walter Frank and mother Irene Cecilia. She graduated from Our Lady of Refuge Elementary, St. Anthony's High (Class of '67) and Long Beach City College. She attended LBSU. Her career path took her back to LBCC where she worked for 26 years in both the Nursing Program and School Library. She enjoyed the rabbits that lived on campus. Before developing kidney disease, she traveled throughout the U.S., was a First Class Girl Scout and leader, camp counselor and member of the League of American Wheelmen. She enjoyed knitting. Cici is survived by her sister, Lynn Hoffland Johsz (Steve); nephew, Brian Johsz (Libbie); great-nephew, Stephen Jeffrey Johsz; niece, Laura Johsz Hahn (Jason); and many cousins. A funeral Mass will be said at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Long Beach on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach next to her Godmother and aunt, "Cee". Requiescat in Pace. .
