Daniel Orap Aquino was born on January 3, 1932, one of eight children of Pedro Aquino and Victoria Orap of Mangaldan, Pangasinan, Philippines. In 1955, he left home to join the U.S. Navy. While stationed in San Diego, he met Zenaida LimSo through mutual acquaintances. They were married on July 20, 1963 and settled in Wilmington, CA. They had six children, four daughters and two sons. Following 20 years of service in the Navy, Daniel went on to work at the Kmart distribution center until he retired. Through his hard work, he provided his children with a Catholic elementary & high school education, and supported them through college. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, growing vegetables, watching Kung Fu movies and boxing, accompanying his wife to social events, and spending time with his grandchildren. It made him happy to cook American cuisine, and his pot roast and turkey gravy were favorites of many. He is survived by his children: Daisy Tobilla (Felipe), Anna Callanta (Ramon), Irwin Aquino (Eileen), Stephen Aquino (Cecile), Yolanda Aquino, and Zenia Raimundo (Michael); his grandchildren Benjamin, Jonathan, Ryan, Alyssa, Andrew, Matthew, Samuel, Caitlin, Cassandra, Mark, Ryley, and Aidan; his sisters Miguela Cendana and Virginia Lopez, plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008.
