Elizabeth Christine Rodriguez was born December 27, 1966, in Huntington Beach, California. She was beautiful, bald and came into the world weighing two pounds, along with her twin brother Tony, who weighed three pounds. She joined a large family (stepdad Jo, older brother Mike, Uncle Sal) that grew to include younger brothers Victor and Joey.
Some of her favorite things to do were snow skiing, hitting the trails on her dirt bike, racquetball and tennis. She was also a marathon runner and trained regularly. Liz enjoyed life, with family or friends she loved to be at the party having a drink and dancing!
Her profession was in texture design and she did that for 25 years.
She gave birth to Christina, her pride and joy, 25 years ago. Recently Christina entered Liz in the (Grandma’s Club) by giving her the greatest gift of all, her granddaughter Zoey.
She often praised the wonderful family we have. Liz adored her Grandma Mary, Aunt Denise, Nephew Michael, Sarah, Mary Lou, Uncle Sal, Jo Jo and Cha Cho. She looked forward to our family gatherings that filled all of us with so much love and joy. Liz never liked dogs but when Christina got Mimi, she never imagined she could love a dog as much as she loved Mimi.
Liz was my only daughter and the love of my life: My motivator, my joy, my partner in racquetball and tennis, my trainer in running, my everything. She is the reason I am the way I am. Liz’s life was Christina and my life was Liz. I will forever treasure when she would open her arms with a smile and say mami. She always called me -mami- and thanked me for everything, big or small.
Today is God’s gift. That’s why it is called the present. So be kind to one another. And live for the present.
