James Carlson was born in Oxnard, California to Bessie and Frank Carlson. After attending Mt. Carmel High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater in World War II. A pharmaceutical salesman for many years, Jim was loved by his co-workers and lauded by those who worked with him.
Jim was a great fan of all sports, particularly Notre Dame Football. He was an active member of St. Cornelius parish for over 50 years, including many as an usher at the 10:00 am Sunday mass, and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jim is preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen, and is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, daughter Barbara, son Joe, grandchildren Patrick and Kenneth Moore, Jenny, Paul, Katie Carlson, Jeff Montooth, great grandson Benjamin Montooth, and by his sister Marguerite Freude and her children. His family will truly miss him!
Services will be held at St. Cornelius Church on Wednesday, March 24, @ 10:00 am. Burial services will follow at All Souls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family would prefer donations made to St. Cornelius School.
