James Whitmore Beadles, Jr., son, brother, uncle, and most importantly, father, went home to the Lord on November 20, 2014. Jim was born to Judith Elaine and James Whitmore Beadles on August 25, 1963, and was a life-long resident of Long Beach. Jim attended Wilson High School in Long Beach and San Diego State University, graduating with a degree in Political Science. The middle child of three, but raised in a blended family of 8 by Robert Kilpatrick and Judy, he was younger brother to Susan Janelle (husband Dan) and older brother to Kevin Michael (wife, Nicole) and step sibling to Katie (husband, Ward), Rob(wife, Heather) Bill (wife, Donna), Kevin, and Terence. Jim was the loving father of Travis and Jake Beadles, also of Long Beach. Also surviving him are Uncle Joe, Aunt Susan, Aunt Karen, mother of Travis and Jake, Lindy, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and a grandnephew. Almost as much as he loved his two sons and family, Jimmy’s love of sports was second to none. He could quote stats, teams, players, and league standings almost as though he was a sportscaster himself! Jimmy, as he was known to his family and friends, fought the good fight of an extremely rare condition called erythropoietic protoporphyria, survived two liver transplants (at ages 30 and 40) to stay in this life with his two beautiful sons and his supportive and loving family. We know he is happy in the company of the Lord, but we’ll miss you, Jim! Donations in his honor and in lieu of flowers may be made to UCLA Liver Transplant Program 924 Westwood Boulevard, Suite 740, Los Angeles CA 90095
