Joanne Shumway Sviatek, 82, of Lakewood, CA, passed away on April 20, 2010. She was born to Ted and Gertrude Shumway on April 19, 1928. Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Al Sviatek; children: Karl (Joyce), the late George, Claudia O'Brien, Stephanie (Michael) Blumenthal and Stan; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; close sister, Marilyn Drouin; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Joanne will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 3954 Palo Verde Avenue, Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Knights of Columbus scholarship fund.
