John died of kidney failure and heart disease and was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Jean. John is survived by sons, Mark (Monica) and Michael (Melanie); daughters, Catherine, Rachel (Andrew) and Jennifer (John); sisters, Sharon and Marylou; six wonderful grandchildren; four nieces; brother-in-law, George (Barbara) Springosky; and close friend, Sandy Brosnahan. John served in the Air National Guard for nine years and worked for the United States Postal Service for 43 years. John loved to be with his family, to read, to play the horses and Notre Dame. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church.
