Joseph James Ford

Joseph James Ford of Long Beach, California passed away July 23, 2014. He was born in Chicago, Illinois January 1, 1937. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, children Laura, Matthew and Timothy (Elizabeth), 2 granddaughters Edie Gadberry and Kennedy Ford plus his sister Rosemary Ford and brothers John Clifford Ford and Bernard Gerald Ford.

He served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963, retired from Northrop Grumman as an aeronautical engineer with 37 years of service and actively participated in the Senior Olympics on the local, state and national level.

Mass will be said at St Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Long Beach on Tuesday July 29th at 10:30am with reception to follow immediately in the church hall. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that consideration be given to donating blood through the local American Red Cross as often as possible or making a donation to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, 100 Park Avenue, Suite 108, Rockville, Maryland 20850 (800) 747-2820 in his name.
