

Born in El Paso, TX on November 11, 1930 and passed away December 9, 2011 from cancer. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA in 1950. In 1949, she was selected ROTC queen. She married her high school sweetheart, Marvin E. Johnson in 1952 in Aiken, South Carolina, where he was stationed in the Army. With her husband, she traveled and lived in England, Puerto Rico and various states. She was active with the Officer's Wife's Club up until the time her husband retired in 1971 and held different positions. She loved sewing, gardening and taking care of her husband who is an Atomic Veteran and survived cancer. She resided in Cerritos, CA since her husband's retirement in 1971. She is survived by her husband, Marvin E. Johnson, Lt., Col., retired of the U.S. Army; loving daughter, Debra Haro; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Bea Chakiris of San Diego, CA and Gloria Pappas of Garden Grove, CA; and one brother, John Kellenberger of Long Beach, CA. Jo will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Visitation is Monday, December 19, 2011, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Luyben Dilday Mottell's Chapel. Graveside services Tuesday, December 20, 2011, 12:15 p.m., Riverside National Cemetery, staging area #2.
