Lorene Yett Hayter

December 7, 1912 - March 1, 2012

Lorene went to meet her Heavenly Father on March 1, 2012. She was born in Greene County, MO to Herbert and Ursula Wilkerson. She lived in the Long Beach/Los Angeles, CA area for 87 years, after arriving there at the age of 7. She concluded her life in Edmond, OK, living with her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Terry Jakubs. Lorene was co-owner and operator of Yett's Variety Department Stores; a member of Pilot Club International, where she was president of the Long Beach Chapter and also governor of the State of California for Pilot Clubs; a member of PEO, both in Long Beach, CA and Midwest, OK; and a lifetime member of Eastern Star and was treasurer for Grace United Methodist Church in Long Beach. Lorene was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Ursula Wilkerson and husbands, Harold Yett, James Petersen, George Balint and Morris Hayter. She is survived by son, Donald Yett; daughter, Pat Jakubs; and son-in-law, Terry Jakubs; grandchildren, Stephen and John Yett and Kellie Clark. She is also survived by stepchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members and friends. Visitation Thursday, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Luyben Dilday Chapel, 5161 Arbor Rd., Long Beach, CA. Cryptside services Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1500 E. San Antonio Dr., Long Beach. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Luyben Dilday Chapel. A buffet will follow the service.
