1943 - 2010
Mary Ann Holliday passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2010 after a long battle with ALS. She was sent to heaven with her husband, Grant, by her side every moment, all the way up to the very end. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She dedicated her entire life to her family. Her number one goal in life was spending time with her grandkids. Whether it be at home, vacation, at school functions or sporting events, she was always there for them to support and be their biggest fan. Mary Ann was a life long resident of Long Beach and graduated from Long Beach Poly. She dedicated countless years of service to Prisk Elementary School and really enjoyed helping young kids to succeed. Mary Ann also volunteered her time, efforts and energy at Millikan High School where both her son, Steve and daughter, Lori attended. She is survived by her husband, Grant; son, Steve; daughter, Lori; daughter-in-law, Chris; son-in-law, Aaron; and her four grandchildren, Marissa, Matt, Brianna and Brandon. A huge void will be left in all their lives by her passing. But many wonderful memories have been left to fill and comfort the sadness. We are all thankful for the memorable times spent together and are at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering on this Earth but is in a better place with God. Today the heavens above have their newest angel to look down upon us and continue to guide us. Let the wife, mother, grandma, and the Mayor of Foreman Avenue rest in peace. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Long Beach.
