Hello, my condolences to the Banda Family.  I am the daughter of Juana Zapata.  My Mom was the girlfriend of Rosie, her sister.  I had gotten in contact with Paula a few years back, but did not continue to contact her. I certainly enjoyed working with Paula at LA Trade-Tech College during 20+ years.  She was an effective counselor, administrator, mentor and teacher. We had great fun working until 10pm many nights to develop a One-Stop Student Registration system.  I enjoyed our lunches with Ron Portillo, Luis Garcia; the many laughs with Harry Miller; and battles we waged on behalf of students and faculty. She would glow when speaking about making tamales with her family at Christmas.  What a lovely person who touched so many and made a difference.  Thanks, Paula, we had fun. Chini Johnson-Taylor

Paula was the best counselor, boss and friend. She changed and touched so many lives, because she really cared. After she retired she still remembered me at Christmas and my Birthday. There was always a card in the mail without fail. I just found out yesterday of her passing and I'm heart broken. I have so many wonderful memories of her. I was just one of many who admired and loved her. I will always be greatful that she was in my life. I will dearly miss her. Ernie

Paula, my treasured friend for over 40 years. I am so glad Paula and Connie visited me a few weeks ago . The stars are shinning brighter as her great smile and contagious laugh is now lighting up the heavens, as they did for so many of us here on earth. She touched my life in many special ways. We are so happy we were able to have a visit from Paula/Connie just a few months ago. She never complained about anything and always had a smile on her face. She found such joy in her friends, family, career, along with  her ukulele family. Play on my friend.

Paula was one of my nursing buddies with the group of Margie, Connie and Celia..She always had a positive outlook on life and made me laugh when we shared special times together..A few months ago Margie Del Castillo coordinated an eveing in San Diego in celebration of birthdays of our group.We had an enjoyable evening together..we shared our earlier adventures and our lives. A recent highlight was a music camp with Connie  in Hawaai a few feet away from the seashore.  She had the opportunity to improve her Ukulele playing..Smiling, she shared that their concert presentation including some well renowned musicians, received  a standing ovation...Love you, Paula. Paula was instrumental in my training to become a professional counselor that places the needs of the student as priority one.  I am blessed to have had her in my life during the Fall 2000 semester.  May her work and impact continue to live on in the lives of the people she influenced.

We will miss you very much...Thank you for being such a great sister-in-law and wonderful Aunt to Tyler. We have so many precious memories...along with photo albums that you made for us, which we will treasure always.

Paula was a fun golfing buddy.  She taught me how to add up greenies!  We had a lot of fun together.  A lot of laughs and just fun humor. Now Paula can grab her skiis, golf clubs and play her ukulele!  And listen to her 8tracks!  God bless Paula.

Another angel is in heaven.... Paula was such a positive person when we served together on committees, and in meetings, through the Los Angeles Community College District. I'll think of her every time I board the Blue Line in Long Beach!

I'm very thankful for Paula Banda...She set the stage for my career when she once counseled me in her office back in the early 80s. I hope that she is resting in a truly desired peace since she performed her due diligence here on this earth.
