

Robert Olivas Campuzano, a recent resident of Rossmoor, Orange County, and a longtime resident of San Mateo, California, died Wednesday evening, October 19 at the home of his son Robert J. Campuzano after a long illness, surrounded by family and Vitas Hospice staff.
Mr. Campuzano was born March 23, 1920 in Tucson, Arizona, the eldest of five children of Ataulfo Campuzano and Dolores Olivas de Campuzano. As a teenager he worked as a linotype operator in Taft, California. During World War II he worked as a civilian for the Navy in the Bay Area supervising the loading and unloading of munitions and refueling naval ships. After the war he joined the Teamsters and was a line truck driver until his retirement. Friends and family recall that he was an avid supporter of causes related to the humane treatment of animals and wild life.
He will be missed, especially by family and friends. He is survived by his longtime companion, Myra Glover of San Mateo; and by his surviving children from his first marriage to Thelma Stamback, Robert James Campuzano of Rossmoor and his wife Santa Campuzano and Elaine Campuzano Flud and her husband Harold Flud, his brother Henry Campuzano and wife Virginia of Bend, Oregon, his sister Irene Wagers of Newbury Park and sister Alice House of Rolling Hills Estate, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Richard Campuzano, his brother Fred Campuzano, sister in law June Campuzano and brothers in law Tom Wagers and Bill House.
A funeral mass will be celebrated by Reverend Kenneth Schmit on Saturday, November 12th at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Los Alamitos, California at 10:30 am. A Christian Burial will be held at a future date at Skylawn Memorial Park in Sam Mateo, California. In lieu of flowers donations to Precious Life Shelter in Robert O. Campuzano’s name would be appreciated.
