
Ronald Harold Haney (“Ron” or “Ronnie”) was born December 12, 1951 to the late John and Mary (White) Haney in Kansas City, MO. Ron was the seventh and last child of Mary Haney. He departed this life on June 28, 2017 at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, California.
Although Ron was baptized at Hosanna Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, he attended different churches over the years, believed strongly in tithing and enjoyed watching Joyce Meyers minister on television. He was a member of the Paseo High School Class of 1969 and was later honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp.
Ron held various jobs throughout his life including working on tug boats, security officer, chauffeur and behavioral health technician. Ron was very personable and well dressed; he loved life, some of his hobbies were detailing cars, bike riding and people watching. Throughout his life, Ron lived in many states across the country but California was among his favorite.
Ronald passed away from complications of liver disease at age 65. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers Richard Haney and Ben Griffin, and sister Pastor Lois Seals.
Ron is survived by two daughters: Karen Haney (Kent Crockett, Sr.) and Astra Garner (Justin); six grandchildren: Tyler Haney, DeJahnna Crockett, Kent Crockett, Jr., Collin Crockett, Amaeris Garner and Aria Garner; two sisters: Christine Seals and Tomacina Wuthrich; one brother Fred Haney and a host of family and friends.
Ron’s cremated remains were privately scattered at sea.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Stricklin/Snively Mortuary of Long Beach, CA.
