Georgina Velez was born on September 1, 1924 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico to her parents Magdalena and Ceferino. Georgina came to the United Stated with her husband Francisco and first 2 children Georgina and Francisco where she finally settled into Astoria, New York for the past 65 years. On Wednesday, November 9, 2016 Georgina Velez entered into eternal rest at the age of 92.

Predeceased by her husband of 60 years Francisco Velez (2004), daughter Virginia (2000) and son David (2016). She is survived by her children: Georgina Colon of Las Vegas, NV. Francisco Velez ( Joyce) of Flushing, N.Y., Willie Velez (Michelle) of Forest Park, GA. Terry Velez of Hollywood, Fl. John Velez of the Bronx, NY. Doris Velez-Chrzanowski (John) of Hackensack, NJ. Roy Velez (Elizabeth) of Levittown, L.I. N.Y., 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great great –grandchildren.

Georgina will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Family will receive relatives and friends Friday, November 11, 2016 from 2-5:00pm and 7-9:00pm at the Morisco Funeral Home 35-20 Broadway Astoria, Queens, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:50am on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 23-25 Newtown Avenue Astoria, Queens, N.Y. Interment to follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery Flushing, N.Y.
