Burton Franklin Stansbery, Jr., 97, of Longview passed away December 12, 2014 in a local nursing center. Mr. Stansbery was born August 10, 1917 in Johnson City, TN to Burt F. and Myrtle Stansbery. He moved to Dallas, TX in 1940 to start his career and met Flo Rose Wilkins and married her on December 11, 1942. He worked for Braniff Airlines and then for Eastman Kodak until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed photography and really anything having to do with airplanes, especially going to the Confederate Air Force Museum.
He is survived by daughter: Jean Rodgers of Longview: son: Richard Stansbery and his wife Linda of Longview; grandsons: Rusty and Michael Rodgers, Alan Stansbery and his wife Regina, and Matthew Stansbery and his wife Abbey; great grandsons: Braxton, Max, Zach, and Ethan Stansbery. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Moore officiating.
