Charles Ray Jones

He was born June 14, 1930 in Jennings, TX to Otto & Hazel Dockery Jones. He married Wanda E. Songer on January 14, 1950. He attended school in Jennings & Deport. He owned & operated Longview RV Repair for 16 years, previous jobs he owned & operated a Borden Milk Truck, Stevens Foods, Lamar Creamery, Paris grocery & truck driver. Along his journey he met a lot of lifetime friends. He has lived in Paris, TX, Broken Bow, Idabel, Del City, Oklahoma City, OK & Longview, TX. He enjoyed Gardening & Flowers along with playing & coaching softball, hunting, camping, 4 wheelin. He Loved his Lord, family & friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church Hallsville.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 yrs. Sons & Daughter in laws: Alan & Martha Jones of Port Neches, Donald & Treva Jones of Longview, Ronald & Sheila Jones, Paris,TX. Daughters & Son in laws: Brenda Landers of Arlington, Sherry (Chris) Gibbs, Shonna (Jason) Grove both of Longview. Grandchildren: Tammy (Gary) Locke, Tonya (Andy) Clark both of Arlington. Mindy (Kevin) DeRouen of Nederland, Derick (Melissa) Jones of Wichita, KS, Suni (Jeff) Stovall, Joshua (Veronica) Jones, Jessica & Matthew Gibbs, Amber (Jeremy Spencer), Brittney (Dustin Bias) & Chelsi Rosenbalm of Longview. Great-Grandchildren: Paige, Meredith, Garrison & Sarah Locke, Drew & Audrey Clark, Kelsi & Cody Kolb, Sarah & Hannah DeRouen, Taylor & Gavin Jones, Chyna Thompson, Christian & Prestin Jones, Taylor Burkhart, Faith, Hope & Destany Weeks, Braxton Gibbs, Abrey & Jerzee Rosenbalm. Sisters: Bonnie Frazier, Wanda Archer & Mary Lollar all of Paris. Brother in law Tom (Monica) Songer of Opplo, AR. As well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Great Nieces & Nephews.

Proceeded in death by: Mother & Dad, Son in law Johnny Landers, Great grandson Austin Locke, Sister Shirley Pate, Brother in laws: Lloyd Frazier, Tillman Archer, Jerry Lollar, James & Jerry Songer. Sister in laws: LaNeta Ross, Inez Songer & Joy Songer. Several Nieces.

Friends are welcome to join with family for a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday October 24, 2013 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 25, 2013 at First Baptist Church Hallsville with Dr. Monty Pierce and Rev. John Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
