Duane W. Sloan

Duane W. Sloan, 77, of Longview, Texas passed away February 7, 2016 at his residence in Longview. He was born December 9, 1938 in Plainview, Nebraska to William Harry and Viola Sloan. He attended Columbus, NE schools and graduated from Columbus High School in 1957. After school, he joined the US Navy in service to his country. He married Cerry Coke in 1988 in Longview, Texas. He was a CNC programmer for Crosby-LeBus where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement in 2000.

He is survived by his wife: Cerry of Longview; children: Gregg Sloan of Longview, Cindy Sloan Hocker and her husband Doug of Frisco, Keith Sloan and his wife Debbie of Longview and James Garrett and his wife Laura of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Adam, Ashlee, and Allie Sloan of Longview, Allison and Macy Hocker of Frisco, TX, and Austin and Max Garrett of Clarksville, TN; sister: Ruth Wuethrich and her husband Paul of Springfield, MO; the mother of his children: Alice Nobles of Frisco, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A time of visitation with his family will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, Texas. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
