

Elmer Everette Steele, 92, of White Oak passed away on November 3, 2014 at a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1922 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Elmer Ewell And Buna Mae Pruitt Steele. Mr. Steele graduated from high school and went on to serve his country in WWII. Before he shipped off overseas, he married his love, Syble Eugenia Randolph on April 7, 1941 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He returned from duty and they moved to East Texas and went to LeTourneau University, where he received his degree and began his career as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife 73 years, Syble of White Oak; sons: Mike Steele and his wife Terry of White Oak, Randy Steele and his wife Sandy of White Oak, and Keith Steele and his wife Savannah of East Mountain; daughter: Rhonda Wilson and her husband Paul of Springtown, TX; grandchildren: Drew Steele and his wife Natalie of Longview, Geoffrey Steele of White Oak, Katie Calhoun and her husband Chad of Sulphur Springs, Scott Steele of Tyler, Stacy Davis and her husband Yogi of Sulphur Springs, Jason Steele of Hallsville, Jamie Steele of White Oak, Jared Steele of White Oak, Zach Wilson and his wife Brandy of Weatherford, TX, David Wilson of Ft. Worth, Sara Wilson of Ft. Worth, Lindsay Steele of Longview, Jake Steele of East Mountain, Lexi Betts of Gladewater; 14 great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Glenn and Bobby Steele and one sister: Janie Steffes.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Heim officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home before the services from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
