Ernest was born on October 1, 1937 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Benjamin Anthony Pfaff and Hattie Moulton Pfaff. He served in the US Army for several years before being honorably discharged. Ernest loved to golf with friends and family, loved fishing and just spending time with people.

Ernest is survived by his wife Stacy Pfaff of Longview, daughters Becky Sims and her husband David of Kentucky, Ashley Pfaff of Longview, son Danny Pfaff and his wife Chris of Arizona, grandchildren Cory, Nathan, Devon, Annie, Justin; one great grandson, two brothers Al Pfaff and his wife Alberta of Marietta, Ok., and Bernard Pfaff and his wife Mary of Missouri, sister in law Pat Vrooman of Hemphill, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William Vrooman.
