

Called momma by many, called meme by her grandchildren, called Sister Collier by her church family, and Wednesday, called home to be with her Lord and reunited with her beloved Bob--Jewel Ruth Collier, 76, of Longview, Texas passed away on August 27, 2014 in a nursing home in Kilgore, TX. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Bellville, Arkansas to Ollie Lee and Gracie Mae Hill Tubbs.
Mrs. Collier’s life was her church and her family. She was a longtime faithful member of Longview First Church. She also enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and spending time in Arkansas with her husband.
She is survived by her daughter: Melisa Walker and her husband Buddy of Kilgore; stepdaughter: Cheryl Essley and her husband Billy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren: Amber Stanley, Cory Shipp, Brock Stanley all of Longview; sisters: Wanda Ottinger and Margaret Ann Scurlock of Arkansas; brother: Earl Tubbs also of Arkansas; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; son: Bobby Stanley; brothers: O.J. and Bob Tubbs; and sister: Marie Sherrill.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home with services held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Rev. James Moore officiating and Bro. Cross serving as Honorary Minister.
