John Jerome Norton

John Jerome Norton, 60, of Longview, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1956 in Batavia, New York to Clarence and Dawn Norton. John graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1975 and worked for Texas Custodial Services for 44 years as an electrician, plumber, and maintenance extraordinaire. He was a member of the Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed riding his Goldwing and spending time in his woodshop, where he took after his Dad in his talent for woodcrafts. John was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents: Clarence and Jean Norton of Longview; sisters: Debbie Jones and Kim Schuette of Longview; nieces: Cheryl Evans, Crystal Knight and her husband Daniel, Jenny Weinland; nephew: Josh Schuette; three great/little nieces: Kaylah Knight, Ally Knight and Jessie Evans; one great great niece: Kinlee Ledbetter. John is preceded in death by his mother: Dawn Marilyn Norton.

A service to remember his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1805 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604, with Rev. John Lindsay officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
