Joshua Lee Pyle's earthly journey ended on August 2, 2025. Born to Darren and Lynette Pyle in Longview, TX, and soon after adopted by his grandparents Gilbert and Peggy Pyle. Josh was raised in Kilgore, TX, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and shenanigans.
Josh was a devoted husband to Shawna (Stank) Pyle since 2007, and the best dad to Cadince (Red One) and Alissa Pyle (Buroo). He loved Shawna and the girls more than life itself. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included golf, pestering Shawna and the girls, firing on everyone's head, bowling, skating, turning flips and tricks wherever he was, cleaning his vehicles, Nike's, Jordan's, and golf shoes, and keeping his yard pristine. One thing about him and Shawna, they bonded over their OCD.
The thing about Josh was, if he liked you, you had a nickname. He was always clever and quick on his toes, and oftentimes mistaken for Adam Sandler...not only for the looks but the personality. There was never a dull moment around him...or quiet. He kept all of us laughing. Josh got along great with all of the kids, because he was the biggest kid in the room. His nephews and nieces, along with all of their friends, loved him. To know him was to love him. He had a way of making everyone feel important and welcomed. He was the epitome of lighting up any room he walked into. He had an infectious smile and personality that you couldn't stay upset with.
Josh worked hard to provide for his family. He spent most of his adulthood working in the oilfield. He made quite the impression and quite the hand. He started off working with his Uncle David Tate. He knew if he could survive working for David, he could work for anybody.
While he only lived 38 short years on this earth, he left an impression on us all. We will miss the love, the laughter, and all the unwarranted advice he gave us.
Josh was preceded in death by parents Peggy (White Lightning) and Gilbert Pyle, Uncle David Tate, Brother Barry Pyle, and his chosen family Dillon McDougal (Shadick), Effie Hudspeth & Dorothy Worsham (The Bats in Black) and Dustin Walls.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shawna "Shoulders" Pyle and two daughters, Cadince (Toot Toot), and Alissa (You Da Bad) of Kilgore, TX. Dad, Darren Pyle of Kilgore, TX. "Mom" Mindy Medrano of Gilmer, TX. Brothers Jerry Pyle and Gaylon Pyle (Jenifer) all of Kilgore, TX. Sister, Malinda Pyle of Kilgore, TX. Sister/Cousin/Nieces Gabby Mills (Ross) of Gladewater, TX, and Savana Barrett (Chris) of Kilgore, TX. Laura "Lala" Medrano (Mike) of Longview, TX. Angel "Ank the Jank" Zamudio of Tyler, TX. Along with many nieces and nephews...Izzard the Gizzard, 'lil Layne, Maliki-Doo, The Book of Eli, Kissin' Kate, Gracie Bug, Noli Roly Poly Oli, Abigail, Maria "The Mexican", Karlie, Ean Bugs, Arabella Monkey, Emmie, Spiderman, Jaydina, Jayci Rae, Jordan, Dani Zuko, and Sydney Girl With No Beer. Also, extended family left behind, Natal and Crook Neck.
Josh always said, "I ain't scared of hard work. I'll stand right next to it."
Look there's a bird,
