

Larry Irvin Flash, 74, passed away on May 6, 2014 at a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. He was surrounded by his daughters, sister and nieces. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Longview.
Larry was born on July 31, 1939 in Laredo, Texas to Irvin and Frances Flash. The family moved to Longview in 1951 where Larry graduated from Longview High School in 1957. Upon graduation, he attended Tennessee Temple College for seminary training.
He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged. He relocated to Houston where he raised his daughters, Carrie and Lisa
Larry was an early enthusiast with anything concerning electronics or gadgets. As a young boy, he would tinker, take apart and rebuild transistor radios, which eventually led to a lifetime interest in all things electronic, including computers. He worked for a number of years at Compaq Computers and Texas Instruments in Houston.
Larry moved back to Longview and took care of his elderly parents for many years until their deaths three years ago. He was a dutiful son, a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was devout in his Christian faith; loved and served the Lord to the end of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Frances Flash.
Larry is survived by his daughters: Carrie Stapleton and her husband, Guy; Lisa Annan and her husband, John; sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Ray Davis; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two nieces; a nephew; numerous cousins and many friends from his church and the community.
