Linda Cromer Wonzer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on November 8th 2025 at the age of 81. Her sudden departure has left a deep ache in the hearts of all who loved her.
Born in My. Pleasant, TX. Linda grew up with a joyful spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a heart big enough to hold everyone she cared about. She was the baby sister of her family, and she carried that gentle warmth throughout her life. To her daughter, Wendy who always called her “BEAUTIFUL” and her son, Michael, she was a rock—steady, supportive, and endlessly loving. To her nieces and nephews, she was a second mother, a safe place, and a source of cherished childhood memories.
Linda grew up in Longview where she attended school. She and Sister June told so many stories of their teenage years she later married and moved to Houston, Tx. Son, Michael was born in Houston 1969 and became the center of her life.
By 1981, she returned to Longview where she welcomed the birth of her daughter, Wendy. Finally, her family was complete. Back home close to her parents, brothers, nieces & nephews.
She cherished all of her family being together. So many holidays and special times together.
Linda had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. She opened her home and her arms without hesitation. She was the best cook, from her famous cabbage rolls to her delicious Jello recipe Bundt cakes.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Wendy; her loving son, Michael; her granddaughters, Ayesha & Bonnie; her sister, June; her nieces and nephews who adored her; and countless friends and family members whose lives she touched with her kindness. She is preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Fay Gean and her father, Billy Cromer. Her brothers, Bill & Bob Cromer. Her nephews Rickey & Dennis Kimbrough.
Linda’s love, generosity, and light will forever remain in our hearts. Though her time here ended far too soon, her memory lives on through the stories we share, the love she gave, and the lives she shaped. And there are so many stories to tell!!! Just ask her niece’s & nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday November 18th at Lakeview where family and friends will gather to honor the BEAUTIFUL soul she was.
